We are looking for an enthusiastic Chinese speaking individual with a strong administration background to join our Head Office on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have had experience working in a fast-paced environment, strong organisation skills, strong interpersonal skills and be able to multi-task in a purchasing environment. Position: Purchasing Assistant Location: Tottenham (N17) Contract: Full time, Permanent No. of vacancies: 1 Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience Benefits: 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), staff discount, pension scheme About the Role As a Purchasing Assistant, you will work closing with the purchasing team and our stores, assist with processing order and shipments in timely manner, maintaining the EPOS (Electronic Point of Sales) system, ensuring the data and pricing on the system is accurate at all times, and support the Purchasing team when needed. Duties include but not limited to: Liaise and negotiate competitive rates with suppliers Process store orders and arrange shipments with suppliers Liaise with suppliers and arrange deliveries with stores Regularly review and maintain existing product information, price comparisons, and any other purchasing related tasks using Microsoft Excel Create product codes, compose, and input product descriptions using Sage system Receive and respond to emails using Microsoft Outlook Process daily price change / update requests, set up promotions using Sage system Carry out daily ad hoc duties such as data entry and maintenance of filing systems Support other departments when required Undertake any other reasonable tasks, as required by senior management Requirements: Previous administrative experience in a face-paced environment Previous experience in Purchasing is desirable Ability to speak Mandarin / Cantonese is essential Excellent computer skills, especially knowledge in Microsoft Office and Outlook Good understanding of MS Excel – namely Vlookup, formulas and Pivot Table Attention to details and excellent time management skills Ability to prioritise and multi-task when needed Approachable and has a can-do attitude Must have the legal right to work in the UK (without sponsorship)
