Telephone Researcher Mandarin – March 2016 Bright and inquisitive telephone researcher required for Investment firm based in the West End of London. Full time or part-time role - can be flexible around other commitments e.g. parenting or studies. MUST BE PERFECTLY FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN (and ideally other languages, such as Japanese, Hindi, Urdu) Your main duties will be to: 1. Conduct in-depth telephone interviews with businesses and decision makers in a variety of market segments and countries 2. Type up notes in English from interviews you have conducted 3. Provide informal verbal debriefs and written summaries of the issues discussed during interviews to colleagues, including senior management 4. Conduct research, using the internet and other sources, into companies, products and markets as identified by colleagues 5. Where necessary, attend internal, and possibly external meetings to discuss findings of research, and contribute to discussions 6. Assist colleagues with other tasks, as deemed necessary
It is expected that that as a minimum the successful candidate will possess the following attributes, skills and experience:

Experience of: 1. Conducting depth telephone interviews with a variety of audiences, preferably both consumer and B2B 2. Providing verbal and written debriefs of interviews to colleagues 3. Using the internet to gather information about specific companies and/or markets and/or countries 4. Working effectively as part of a team
Skills and qualifications 1. Fluency or mother tongue in English and Mandarin (plus ideally any of the other languages mentioned) 2. Educated to at least degree level (preferred) 3. Intermediate IT skills - as a minimum should be very comfortable with Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet browsers
